Leading Cut and Sew Manufacturers

In the Cut and Sew design method, a garment is manufactured first, then printed, instead of the other way around. Typically, businesses and artists buy bulk t-shirts and have their artwork printed on them. Since each item is carefully manufactured by hand, a design approach where the garment is printed before being made results in higher-quality clothing. The method’s hallmark is the meticulous attention to detail needed to generate high-quality apparel that precisely reflects the designer’s concept. Read More…

Cut and Sew Just as any other fabric manufacturing service, cut and sew involves choosing a garment pattern and reproducing it onto a piece of fabric, then cutting it and sewing the similarly produced designs of fabric into a whole new garment. In other words, it is the process of producing clothes with new and creative design patterns either manually or through sewing machines.

The restrictions brought on by seams and sizes are removed when printing directly on the raw fabric. Since the method eliminates the limitations of stock hues, color selections are endless.

Cut and Sew Process

Some of the most popular goods suggested by cut-and-sew manufacturing include hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, skirts, jackets, and leggings. Fortunately, cut and sew can also be used to make rugs, teddy bears, curtains, and other things in addition to apparel. In addition, cut and sew techniques can be used to create anything constructed from fabric.

Pattern Design

Digital printing pattern designs can be created in a variety of methods. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and computer-aided design (CAD) are examples of software that can be used. For clarity and simplicity of manipulation, hand-drawn designs can also be computer scanned at 300 dpi regardless of the computer application. The image is created with a thick, dark marker and posted into a file that can be accessed by Photoshop, a Photoshop variant, or a similar application. Finally, the image must be layer rasterized and clarified to modify and adjust.

The design's components are taken out of the original scanned image and placed on a new, layered background with the design's original background removed so that just the designs remain to have colors added. Some colored pieces are relocated to the background's edge to act as terminal elements as they are placed in a certain way. The elements are then spaced and arranged to conform to the intended creative pattern in the last phase.

The pattern is examined to determine whether it is seamless, scaled to be larger than the original design, then fixed to prepare for printing at the end of the design process.

Pattern Printing

The ultimate results of the cut-and-sew garment are greatly influenced by the pattern's printing on the fabric. The various techniques for printing on fabric include:

Screen Printing

Straightforward printing takes time. An ancient and well-established printing technique is the silk screen. It is utilized for both professional and high-volume business printing. For example, many tie-dye T-shirts produced in the 1960s used silk-screen printing.

Digital Printing

Many cut-and-sew pattern printing on raw fabric uses this most effective technique. A digital printer receives the developed design after it is uploaded to a computer. The digital printing procedure used to print patterns on fabric uses inkjet printing to transfer digital computer data to the fabric. Sublimation and direct printing are two types of digital printing. These techniques use the same technology. The techniques needed to prepare the fabric and the media put into the printer account for the differences between them.

Sublimation Digital Printing

The digital file is reproduced on specially coated paper as a mirror image. Fusing is the process by which the printed image is applied to fabric made of polyester under pressure and heat. The application of digital sublimation printing has some restrictions.

Direct Digital Printing

Before printing, the cloth is coated with padding, which aids in the dyes' penetration of the material. A sticky substance on the printer belt feeds raw fabric into the printer and holds it in place while it is placed on the belt. The fabric is heat dried when it leaves the printer.

Cutting Process

There are three ways to cut: manually with scissors, mechanically with a knife, or computerized and automatically with a powered knife. Because of their significance and necessity, manufacturers in the cut and sew sector have standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for such cutting processes.

garment cutting

The way the components of a garment are then cut from the cloth during the cutting process is a crucial phase in the production of a garment. It is finished in two stages. The first is rough cutting, in which the fabric is cut into the individual garment components. The second step entails cutting the forms to match the garment's measurements. The edges of the cuts must be clear, unscorched, and infused for cutting to be successful.

Cut and Sew Advantages

  • No print limitation
  • More control over production quality
